Apart from the sajica, tetras and humbug cat it's pretty spot on.If I had the room and tanks then bonded pairs or solo wet pets, as I haven't then I will stick with my slightly half arsed biotope?
I'm also getting into the odd fish, always loved them. I still love my 15 gallon with a slight community and my guppy tankMost of my style with fish stuff that are odd or unique in ways like my electric eel, lungfish and stingrays. Most all of my tanks are species only. My main goal in this hobby is to have one from each of the classes of fish. From the rayfinned to the jawless etc.
This for me is the goal. But it's often really difficult to get a "true" biotope, including plants and everything. At least, I find it hard to source all of these things!A well aquascaped biotope of fish found together in nature.
That's why I'm going loose, all African fish from west Africa and plants with that. African knives, polys and butterfly fish all have a very wide range which helps. Vallisneria is my get out of jail free card since it's found all over the world pretty much, then bolbitis and various anubias. Maybe even some congo tetrasThis for me is the goal. But it's often really difficult to get a "true" biotope, including plants and everything. At least, I find it hard to source all of these things!
The next best thing for me is to try and get as close as possible, but expanding from say a catch location or specific river, to a country or part of a continent.
At the end of the day I like to try and have a small cube of nature in my living room.
Someone had an amazing tank with a large wolf and a school of cardinalsI wouldn't mind a fully planted 210 full of tetras
