Fry will be especially vulnerable to ick, so treatment should not be delayed.
Since we don't know the size of the tank, I'd use 3lbs of salt for 100 gallons, (you can easily calculate for your tank based on 100), dumped right in(opposite side of eggs).
It doesn't matter what kind of salt, rock salt, water softener salt, table salt.....salt (NaCl) is salt.
