What a sad way to spend you B-day

Aww I'm really sorry about that. What a sucky way to end a bday and a work day. But hey it's your bday go out and buy yourself something huge and expensive like a big motoro and then get another arapaima. I'm sorry you had such beautiful fish. They could have jumped do to a electric shock. Did you check your equipment?

There was nothing in the tank to cause electic shock..
Yes, that really suck as i had the pima and aro since they were a few inches, and though it sonly been a few month, i was really looking forward to putting them in my 800 tank. Then to top it off went to olive garden, and that had to be the worst service ever, will never go there again. What a day, should have used my first mind and took the day off work and worked on plumbimg my big tank. Would have solved two issues. I would have heard the fish jump out and sacved them and would have had a better meal.

I had a fire eel jump once. Not many things are worse in the hobby than coming home to a favorite fish dried out on the floor. :(

Aww that's so awful. You need to pick yourself up and keep going man. Sometimes life can be a (insert 5 letter word) but you have to just move on. Think about it this way, you now get to choose something else if you want or can get a larger fish and move it in sooner.

Since it's your birthday I would suggest going out and getting 2 of each to ease your loss!

very sorry to hear this... big loss for sure.. hope your b-day had some good things... lesson learned for all .. weigh down the tops of tanks... it is not a joke or a once in a blue moon event.. they jump... all the time.. you won't lose them if theres a weighted cover... sorry you had to learn this the hard way... and poor pets too.. they missed out on a good life in the 800gal.. wow..

I am thinkning about buying another Pima if i can find one, but the beauty was I paid a little of nothing because they were tiny when I purchased them.

Horrible news mate, especially on your birthday but I've noticed everywhere but England seem to not bother too much about the lid,I've got a full stainless steel lid on all my tanks plus a seperate sliding polycarbonate lid inside that,no chance of escape and it looks very good too.
