what age does chasing turn violent?

Precisely, they're just as bad as similarly sized haitensis IME. I always found it odd that many published reference sources had them listed as semi-aggressive, and more placid than many other large heroine cichlids. They've always been right up there with festae, midas, haitis, etc. from what I've seen. Granted, I've only kept about 4 specimens, but all were more than aggressive enough to compete with the more commonly kept "badboy" C.A's.

This is what gets me....I did my research before buying one (in my pre MFK days), and on more than one website found statements like 'not as aggressive as other similar sized cichlids' Lo and behold, I have bought a MONSTER!!

Still....he will be a good looker one day!!
