I'm replacing the inlet and outlet of my canister filters, everything is connected correctly, I filled the tubing back up with water since I drained them to replace the inlet/outlets but for some reason it's not running correctly.

When turned on the pump starts up, but it doesn't take water nor does it release any water.

What am I doing wrong?

Oh and the filters are XP3s

Did you prime it?

Yeah the canisters themselves are full of water already. I just drained the tubing which I filled the inlet back up before operation.

Still can't get them to function properly.

Sorry, I never personally use Rena filters before so I can only suggest on the grounds of general canisters. Have you tried cleaning the impeller? That is usually 80% of the cause if you are sure all the configurations are correct.

i have this problem every time i clean my filter. even though there is water in the canister you still need to prime it! this helps get all of the air out and then it should flow perfectly fine

as you fill the inlet it should also fill the supply if not you have some sort of blockage....when I fill mine I watch the supply fill at the same time. Water seeking its own level kinda thing...lol

I'm suppose to disconnect so I don't fill the supply just the inlet tube, but I"ll try that as well.
