What am I doing wrong? - Canister Filter New Inlet/Outlet

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Did you open the valve(push down) that you had to close(lift up) to disconnect the supply/suction lines so you could clean canister????

Yeah.

Just for kicks and giggles I put on the old inlet and outlet and it works just fine :swear:

Why would the inlet and outlet make a difference - Same tubing size, everything fits snuggly. I don't want to be stuck with the ugly Rena XP3 inlet :(

Is the canister mounted above the water level of the tank?

what are using for the new installation....everything the same...Diameter/length and all that.

You said Filters....are they both on the same tank 2 supply lines and 2 return lines????

Bought three sets of these in the 5/8" model.

And yes, both filters on the same tank are separate from each other - each has their own supply line and return line.

Partial success - I was able to get the intakes of both new inlets on - I'll work on the outlets later as I don't want to keep stressin my fish out by all my swearing.

I was never able to get those to work on my xp3 either. I eventually gave up and learned to live with that hideous blue intake tube
