ya. i really am opposed to feeding it live. I finally got all my other fish off of it. i guess i could try hatching some live brine shrimp if it needs something swimming around to provoke its appetite.

i would try live crayfish/crawdads if you can find some worked for my venezuela never met a cichlid that didn't love crawdads

I know it's not proper to leave uneaten food in, but I left the pieces in and they were gone this morning. I don't think I can find crayfish that are small enough. I am definitely going to go and catch me some this summer for free fish food.

i found some all ready this year right about now all the eggs have hatched and are growing so in a couple weeks there will be a bunch of small crayfish theres all ready a bunch of 1'' and under ones

maybe that's why i put it in the pike cichlid forum

oh, really, i've never actually looked for the eggs. i've seen some that are 1" but that still might be a little too big

Yep about a month ago i was out netting and cought a few okay sized female with a big black mass of eggs stuck to there tail they will cling to the mothers tail for a little while after they hatch but are of on there own when there about .5'' if the crawdads look to big i would keep tehm, in a bucket or somethin till they molt and get all soft then there eazy targets and just get ripped apart

I've seen them w/ eggs, but not w/ tiny babies.
