Aye, does indeed look like another lucius...cool beans man! :D Hopefully they will get along great...haha..fingers crossed!
ya...too bad they are the same sex

it can go in the 40 if need be. the bellycrawler is the only one that's sort of aggressive. they are doing fine so far.

I wanted to say lucius but wasn't sure now i can see it for sure try to get some more pics when its settled in that would be sweet if it turned out to be a female and they formed a pair

I doubt either one is female, but that would be cool.

I have one more pic of this one and some more of a new one. I went to another LFS that I hardly go to since the new owners took over and they hardly get any new fish and the service sucks. They had a tank of pikes and half looked like lucius and half looked different, so I got one. Too bad I paid way more yesterday for another lucius when this place had some for $4. I hope it's not just another lucius that hasn't gone through a change yet. The guy told me they were only feeding on live :shakehead Anyway, here's the pix...

any ideas? has a red tip on the dorsal, no spots and lines on top of its head.

wow 3 pikes in one tank hope that works out would be cool

i'd say you got a lucius

the new pike looks like a SP. venezuela its the skinny one right ?

So another place had a tank full of pikes so it looked like there was 2 kinds of pike or a few different kinds

ya, so far so good, but I'm keeping a very close eye out. I'm at least as much worried about the jar as the other pikes. Pretty sure the larger one is another lucius.

the new one is skinny, yes. The guy said it was only eating live. I put some small tilapia chunks in the tank (it's in a 10g by itself) last night but it didn't eat them. I actually had 4 in the 75 for a day or two. I'll probably end up getting rid of a couple of them or trading them on something more "desirable"...gonna grow em out a little though.

they just had what looked like 2 different species. 1 was definitely lucius and the other is what I got. I made another thread to get a little more attention.

hope it starts eating

i'll look for the other thread is it in the pike section
