Haha, more worried about the Dat!
The tank has a couple of laaarge Emperor Snakeheads, a large Sailfin Pleco, and a collection of mostly large Polypterus.

Those are pretty safe I would think...

I'd be a little worried about the large snakehead? You can't let a good looking NGT like that be a meal.

My emperors are big pussy cats!
They will give a small nip to any fish that annoys them, but quite tamed.

i don't mean to put a downer on you free fish

BUT

the bright colour is not always a good sign with NGT it could be be because it needs food bad and when he gets a good feed the colour may fade i have seen this a lot with NGT

^ Agreed... I noticed with NGTs, actually with all Dats. What we term "stable" coloration may not be when the fish is most stable. :D

I read this somewhere else too.
Well it has now been nearly a week, and after a few days of hoping he may take some pellets, I threw a few cubes of frozen blood worms in.
He went crazy for them nipping around the tank catching them in the filter flow. Great to watch!

His sunken belly has now gone, and thankfully he has retained the same bright colors and contrast.

So now I have the job of getting it on to something more staple than tiny bloodworms.

Meal worms sound good?
What else do you people recommend?

Cheers.
