Hmm so actually melt the plastic a bit, how would you say that affected your filter's water intake?
 
happy ending - my manager let me trade it back in and i upgraded to another AC110 :)
 
I thought about trimming the plastic edge of my tank with an angle grinder for a minute. Before I just swapped the filter to another tank.
 
You could move your 45 man....I moved my 65 by myself half-full of water with 70lbs of wet sand in it. Definitely wasn't GOOD for me...my back hurt for a week. Just gotta brace yourself against the stand & tank and walk one corner bit by bit. Once you get it out of its carpet groove its a little easier;) My 20g I can move full of water without much issue at all.
 
I just really didn't wanna risk it to be honest haha, the weight isn't a problem just one over-exuberant movement and my room is flooded very quickly hahaha - fortunately my manager let me return it and i grabbed an ac110 so s'all good ;)
