What an idiot. guys, help me out please.

it really sucks for the fish.

but there really isnt anything you can do.

she's just one of "those" people. They ask for advice, then when the advice doesnt sit well with them, or they are too lazy or prideful to take it, they lash out.

lost cause. spend your time on more worthwhile people.

wouldnt worry about it too much, you tried. it sucks but she will learn when her marble goby and/or red lobster decide to start eating the buffet she has provided.

there are many people who care and try to learn on that forum... i guess ill just help them out. sucks for her fish though...

pm her a link to this forum telling her how much it has helped you etc.... and watch as she comes over here

in the above link, i am trying to help someone out. in the same link, my screen name is plecodiscus. mods, you can delete this if the link's not supposed to be there or something... but i need advice. how do i talk to the dumb girl in the link while still keeping peace on said forum?

lmfao that girl has an attitude problem... are you sure that's not really a guy?! :D :D :D

just ignore her, you tried to help her and from what i read, you did it in a very polite and nice way, then she is completely ungreatful for it.

then how will her fish be safe. she just gets more and more... and every fish she buys, she asks how to care for them AFTER she buys them.

Which part of it's off topic do you not understand? No matter how well meaning your intent is, it's still off topic.

You want to help her? Then get off your soap box on that thread. Start your own lecturing other fish keepers on your own thread or PM her.

You can force/take a horse to water but you can not force them to drink. It's as simple as that.

I bet the feeling that's she's or he's an idiot is being reciprocated.;)

I suggest you save your pontificating self serving admonitions to some more receptive folks who are actually seeking help with stocking.

She's not going to listen and nothing you say will make a difference. That's too often the case here (& on any other forum) also. Don't sweat the small stuff and just let it go.

Well put.

She asked about a catfish changing color at night, not about whether or not she will need a bigger tank in the future.

While it may have seemed helpful to you, it probably seemed unneeded and offensive to her. Telling people how to care for the things they care about is telling them they don't know how to care for them.

Now, if someone never even asked what they should do about their fish, and someone tells them anyway, you can probably see why that would be a touchy subject, especially if they already know.

I've been on the other end of the stick so I know how it feels. I reacted a lot worse than this girl once. I felt bad about it after, but learned from it: Sometimes people are genuinely trying to help - they aren't always aware of what you already know.

Sometimes it's just a lot easier to believe a human being would try to talk down to you than go out of their way to help you out. JMO

Ive tried that. she ignored me when i told her i was sorry for going off topic on one of her threads, she ignored me.

I bet the feeling that's she's or he's an idiot is being reciprocated.;) she refuses to listen to advice, buys fish that she knows nothing about, and has crammed them all in a 29gal. im trying to be helpful and save her fish.

im not trying to be self serving. im trying to help people and their fish.
