What are all the species of American cichlids with the electric blue morph?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man those are some nice fish. What is the proper term for the metallic effect on the scales? I am super interested in fish that have this on most of their body and not just small patches. They don't even have to be blue, but I have seen blue is the most common color that has this effect.

Iridescent maybe?

Argentea have a nice iridescent shine as do most Veija if well kept...
Most parachromis and beanie...

You are correct. Generally you will get one male Coatzacoalcos that comes out electric blue. I haven't seen many.

I think Aquamojo Aquamojo mentioned once that there was an eb vieja Coatzoalcos

How early where you able to tell that the fry were going to be eb ?
You can't. When they change into their adult coloration, most will be average...Occasionally one will be this coloration. It doesn't happen often. At least this has been my experience.

Is that coloration just the result of nature of is it due what man created.
