I have been keeping African Cichlids all of my life but I just recently bought a 180 gallon tank that I'm going to house my Cichlids in. When I move them to the 180 I'll have a 75 gallon tank that will need some new inhabitants. I see people talk alot about Snakeheads here and I was wondering if I could put a few in my 75 gallon tank. What are they anyway, They remind me of Bowfins but I'm sure they're not. Would I be wise to buy a few and put them in my 75 gallon or should I get something else to put in there?

you cant really buy them.........ILLEGAL..........stubble upon them.

If i were you i would get something else, and or do alot of research on sh before you jump into it!

Snakeheads are uber predators. Especially the red snakehead, but that grows to about 3 feet so most people can't really keep them. Fortunately there are smaller snake heads or 'dwarf' snakeheads that grow from 6 inches to 18 inches. Unfortunately for you, you live in the US of A and because of some dumbass irresponsible fishkeepers released them into the us ecosystem and basically they've f***ked **** up... So you can't erally get them even if you wanted to

Id love to keep a beheri in one of my 55g tanks :headbang2
Theres so many different cool ones now that I cant have them :swear:

75g is too small for arowana. can probably house a juvenile for 6 months or so. not a good idea. if you want predators how about some exodons, Red belly Pirahna. Polypterus senegalus are cool i have got a few. you might like those.

you can get any arowana you want as long as it isn't an asian

I'm not really sure what to get. I don't want Piranahs though.
