What are some cool south American cichlids

By the way Trimacs are not S Americans, they are from Mexico, considered part of N America

What do you guys think about severums specifically green,gold,turquoise since red is hard to find at a lfs

I like severum's alot...might go pick up a standard one here pretty quick, Also looking at getting a red...they are pretty awesome. Stay relatively small in the cichlid world at about 8", usually pretty tolerant...

Festae and Caquetia are pretty colorful big guy. Check out spectabilis and a mature umbee male, it doesn't get much more colorful than that.

+2 Hard to get more colorful than a Festae!

I've always had Oscars so I'm a little biased to say they are pretty cool. They really have personalities. But if your looking for color I'd say Green Terrors. They are pretty colorful.

I have some pretty bright gold severums, I also have a couple synspilum, they're about 5" now and their colors are coming in really nice!!
