Yea they are a decent blow to the wallet. Is there any reason you want one that will get over 24"? Because Tats or red tails are great payara to start off with and you can find them at a good price. I found some for $30 at around 6". Do you need the size for compatibility reasons or do you just want a Monster??

Just mainly for compatilibites....but the other reason is I want a monster...to go with the monster I already got...anything smaller may get eaten....

if u have a huge tank i would get an armatus. the only thing u have to watch with an armatus is they get more and more aggressive as they get older. they have a growth spurt at about 6'' and will hit about 14 inches in a matter of 2 or 3 months. if they get bigger then their tankmates they get very territorial and mean. most of them end up solo or with bottom dwellers. nothing like an armatus though....

sounds like a plan.... 3,300 pond or tank?

the bigger the better for an armatus, and he will get along better with tankmates w more space.

im not sure what to call it...its being made with concrete blocks...just like JohnPTC's tank....so i guess you can call it a tank...:nilly:

were all still planning on wether we add an extra foot to the lenght of the tank....so it will give a estimated 3,600 gallon of water volume...but we just planned on sticking with a 11' lenght so we can have some space on the width side to put the filtration and other equipments at...the dimension will be a 11'x8'x5'
