Midnight is the Master DIYer... It's not always pretty... but it almost Always works :D :ROFL:
:ROFL::ROFL::cry::cry::ROFL::ROFL:

if you can build a box...you can build anything.

I built a stand for my first 125ga tank. All it took was a bunch of 2x4's, 2 boxes of screws, and a bottle of Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum. I think my wife has video of me dancing on it when it was finished.

Thanks everyone! I shall study and read as many articles and not give up until all my fingers are gone! :headbang2 :D

Nice canopy on the 20 gallon btw it looks great! :drool:

Well I was just browsing through all these threads on diy and everyone is so good at making stands or building their own tanks, I was like "damn how do these guys get so good at this." I'm 16, don't have a lot of tools my dad used to do a lot of simple woodwork but nothing really sturdy enough for an aquarium. My only experience with woodwork is 8th grade shop class, I couldn't even finish my towel rack lmfao. :grinno:

So I was wondering what would be some good starter projects to gain some experience on the diy ethic and the feel of things?

And please list the tools I would need and supplies :headbang2
start with something easy like a sump or overflow box. get some ideas and specs from the diy thread. i would do a sump. get a 15 or 20 gal tank and cut your own dividers out of lucite or plexi from home depot. a tube of rtv silly-cone and glue it up, good luck mang!:cheers:
