Very cool! I'd not heard of these before. What temperature are you keeping them at?

My favorite cichlid at my house is still Hoplarchus psittacus. He's my answer to a wet pet. Lots of people prefer oscars, red devils, or umbee, but I prefer this guy. I put silly music to it because my cousins named him Spanky, and they think he's funny. ;) He's also pushy, mean, and nosy. They're not really hard to find if you mail order, but I have never seen one in any of my local shops and I'd never even heard of them until I found MFK.

Alcolapia is a soda lake cichlid from Africa. Those lakes are thermal (they live around the perifory where the water doesn't boil, and is the least saline) , where they live is more saline than the ocean.
I keep them at about 90'F. They are of Tilapine ancestry.

This is one of my aequidens diadema. I have this male and a female. The female was pretty beat up when I got her and is still a little on the shy side so no pictures of her yet. These guys seems to have very reserved personalities. The male is just now starting to beg for food. They really are pretty neat!

I also have a pair of geophagus steindachneri and a pair of geophagus pellegrini(I hope but could also be steindachneri)
