25 exo's will work.......

I think you need to be a little more specific... what do you mean by "monster"? I wouldn't house anything too big in that tank. If you want "monster attitude"... I would go with a dozen or so demasoni in that tank...

P. Demasoni are my favorite small fish
and im planning a similar tank with them
just make sure you have alot of rock work
with many places to get away
there lil hard heads that will kill each other
mine locks up with my Jag anytime i put them together
very cool small fish max 3" that people should check out

can you consider your 55 a monster grow out tank
get what you want watch it grow fall in love
and upgrade when needed
then i would say dont buy anything that grows too fast

you want a monster to love
get a Bichir Eel a small Senegal or any other
you wont be sorry alot of personality and monster appetite
everyone should own a BICHIR!

plus anyone coming to your house will say WHAT IS THAT?

and you can mix them with cool fish

there are some pike cichlids they stay small enought for a 55 right guy's i love those nice fish with a snapper head they have

Get a couple of big convicts, monster attitude in a small package. :grinno:

Seconded. I put a couple dither tiger barbs in with 2 cons who weren't breeding at the time.. went to get a drink, came back to 6 massacred Tiger Barbs. In 20 minutes, they decimated everything in the tank except 1 Cory Cat.:WHOA: :headbang2

what about an oscar???? a 75 would be better but they manage in a 55. surprized no one mentioned an oscar....

that's because 12" wide is too short for an oscar
