im starting up a 55 and would like 4 or 5 pairs of dwarf, maybe blue rams, kribs and stuff like that. im intrested in ones that will breed easily and are not extreamly hard to keep. ill proably but 2 or 3 different species of the dwarfs and a few small barbs and danios to keep agression at a mininmal

If you want something that's easy to keep, you might want to rethink the rams - or at least test your water first. Rams require pristine water conditions with exact parameters to survive and be healthy, they're a lot of work, unless you naturally have extremely soft water from your tap.

or you could do a bunch of different types of shell dwellers

yes i knew about the rams and i never had any problems with them in the past but i dont want anything thats harder than the rams.

Apistogrammas.

i have 5 rams 2 neons 2 glolights 1 discuss 2 ghost knives in a 20gal. im moving to a 55gal. but as far as water quality ph7 hardness 6-11 seems to do me right. It just depends on where you get the fish. try distilled water or get an ro unit. i do big water changes monthandahalfly.the rams are beautiful long finned rams.

APISTOGRAMMAS!!! any of them but especially cockatoos.

sounds good to me. how many pairs should i have in a 55? maybe 3 pairs? im gonna add a decent amount of live plants to get alot of places to mark territories. i was thinking a pair of each, cockatoo, rams, and kribs.

i just added some zebra and giant danio for dether fish and to start to tank cycling, next maybe some barbs. i like gold barbs so i think ill get them. any sugestions?

forget the giant danios and go for some tiger barbs as dithers. :)
