What are the best Meds for treating Wild Caught Fish?

Kinda a two way street too. What does not affect tank raised fish may affect wild caught ones worse. This is usually why owners of altum angelfish are generally frightened by the idea of mixing altums with scalares (tank raised angels though wild ones also are caught and sold).

Damn that's right I didn't even think of the flip side of that! In general do most sunnies tolerate the quarantine and medication treatment pretty well?

Table salt works just fine. What you need to avoid is yellow prussiate in them. Just check labels since yellow prussiate is also listed.

just out of curiosity are the wild fish just used to having certain parasites so it doesn't really affect them as much but it would be a real problem if the same parasites got a tank raised fish?

They probably are.....if they don't eventually die.Lots of wild collected tropical fish are also loaded with parasites when they are brought in as well.
