What are the best types of pellets?

Another vote for NLS. I have a tank of clown loaches just fed on NLS and another fed with a variety (mainly a bunch of hikari carnivore wafers, algae wafers, and massivore that I got for free). Both tanks have healthy fish but the coloration of the clowns in the NLS is noticably brighter. One of my friends came by today and asked me why the clowns in the tank in my room are so much more colorful... cough... cough... NLS. The tanks around my house normally get fed by my dad once a day in the morning, but I feed the ones in my room. All the fish we own would get NLS but we gotta get rid of the "junk food" first. I hate it when my dad throws in some of the cheap koi pellets for the koi and goldfish in our koi pond into the big display tank outside my room... His reasoning is that the fish need their veggies too... lol. It's hard explaining to him that NLS has all the veggies they need even after showing him the list of fruit and vegtable extracts printed on the ingredients list on the side of the NLS container. He also insits on buying cheapy koi pellets for his koi and goldfish in our pond even though I have some nice fish in the pond too (that deserve much better!).

NLS, and live/raw foods. I offer Massivore to my gar as well.. main thing is catering to each species needs, not just "tossing in pellets" though NLS is as well rounded as you can get. my plecos appreciate the zuccini chunks, gar appreciate the live fish, rays and eels appreciate the worms.. ect...

What type of New Life Spectrum do you give your fish? Is there a type that brings out color better than others or are they all the same?

massivore and cocktail shrimp

All I can think when I hear cocktail shrimp is you having "sexy dinner parties" with your fish...hahaha...sorry. You drinking a martini, dropping shrimp into the tank with a dip into cocktail sauce first...I use new life spectrum and Hikari...I know the NLS is generally a better blend, but my LFS doesn't carry it so I'll buy Hikari in a pinch. My fish are hogs, they'd eat shoe leather if given the chance. I usually feed earthworms every day or two, and give them pellets in the AM...basically a treat for tolerating the unnatural action of turning on the lights...

For my CA and SA's, I use Xtreme in the mornings and NLS for dinner.

Ive been experimenting with some new brands lately. I just bought some hbh pellets and most of my fish ignore them. As a free sample, I tried some of Ken's own krill pellets, they are too hard and take forever to soften up, only my oscars eat it. I used an Aqueon brand sinking pellet, my fish spit it out. On the other hand, Ive had great results from hikari. I dont care for the ingredients in some of the varieties though. My fish like the floating sticks and not one fish ignores massivore
