I will start I have a few, I bought an overpriced algae scrubber/scraper that was really weak that turns out it was for acrylic.
Also dead fish are wasteful

I hope more people respond to this thread. It's a great idea and hopefully will keep some of newbies from burning out too quickly from wasted money.

The stuff I smoke while I gaze at my fish???

WAIT!! That's not a waste at all...

I'd have to say dechloronator (prime). It gets expensive(buying so much), but I guess isn't a waste either!

*Dead fish are a waste for me. I went through enough fish before i learned what know now. I feel 100% guilty for that too.
*Another waste is plants, trying different plants that "might" work in the setup you have. (**UGH)
*Filters
*water
*electricity
*wrong types of fish
*time
*ELECTRICITY

But its all for the hobby.

Other hobbies are equally expensive when you get indepth. My MTB was $2200. And i need anothe $1k to improve it to where i want it to be.

LOL! That's everything Bleu!! All that is the investment! Not the waste! ...isn't it?

Unless you want to go back to having new water sit overnight.I actually still do that with some of my smaller tanks....My answer to the question though would have to be gravel.I have a few buckets full sitting around that I may never use again because I no longer like the color.

plants are waste of money!
