What are the biggest waste $ on your tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got all of my plants for free, or for next to no money at all. Join a local fish club, they normally have auctions or swap with eachother for things.

I'd be pissed if I actually BOUGHT all the plants I have, and have lost!

This is wrong. A capful of Prime treats 50 gallons, and a capful of NovAqua treats ten gallons.

Either way, Prime is way more efficient. 1 ml = 10 gallons, 5 ml = 50 gallons, and the Pond Prime is even more, 1 ml = 20 gallons, 5 ml = 100 gallons.

Yeah Laticauda, my mistake was 1 capful = 5ml, not 1ml. But what you've said about Pond Prime needs to be reevaluated based on my recent discovery.

paying for shipping

my first fish, a botia, jumped out of my tank in the first few hours of having it, only like $5 lost but still sucked.

or my gravel vac, i should have splurged for a python or something similar

Sand! ruined my aqua clear filter. Never would use sand again nothing but a pain in the ***. I like black gravel with real bogwood as decorations and pleco food.

Buying saltwater fish from a few wholesalers at once and putting them in a reef tank, expecting them to be healthy.

Filter media. The only things I have in my filter that were made to go with it are the biowheels. Those are of questionable use too, but they don't take up space I would use for anything else.

Damn, do your math. Novaque is like 1 ml per 10g while Prime is 1 ml per 50g. Also get those Prime in 20L then you're set for life.

Damn you're right. I don't know too much about Prime and have never used it so I didn't know the amount that's used in conditioning the water. I just compared the price per amount of each bottle. The Doctor.

You should really judge it based on the amt of gallons treated per the price. Prime wins, hands down.
