What are these fish? Got them free with my tanks on Craigslist.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would probably put them in the 75g with the rainbows and bettas. The 9g would be too small for a pair of plecos. Even though zebra don't get very big they are still plecos (waste producers) so you'd be having to do lots of WC's if you used the 9g to keep good quality. And the cory cats in the 32g would compete for food with the plecos. So in the 75 the rainbows should leave the plecos alone, the bettas "should" leave them alone as well but keep an eye on them for a while to make sure.

Ok, I think I'll do that. There's a lot of cover and driftwood so they should feel more secure. The tank is also darker. The first male betta is my last aggressive and my other male is too old to care. The younger flares at the boesemani from time to time but basically ignores their boisterous behavior. I think I have 2 make zebra so I think my friend may switch my out for a female :]

I couldn't see my cories outcompeting for food lol. Good choice, the gourami tank are major waste producers so adding them would probably be.... bad lol.

Anyways what what temp, and water hardness do the zebras like? I know they like high temps, but would boesemanis be able yo handle that lol? There are 3 filters. 1 wave maker type one, internal filter, and a sponge filter..... hope it's enough :]

They say 79-86 for zebras but I know some guys that keep them and they do alright in the lower end of that range (78/79f). They have a decent ph range of 6-7.5'ish so if you have some wood in the tank already it should have the ph a tad lower. Plus if they were local fish there's a good chance they are already adapted to a bit higher ph most likely.

I haven't kept rainbows myself but from what I know of them I've seen fellow club members with rainbows in angelfish tanks which were kept at about 80F so I'd say the rainbows & zebras should be okay if the tank is around 79/80f range.
