What Are These Store Tanks Called?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Pharaoh's right, I do use there where I work. Not the exact design butthe only differance is that ours are flat in the front. The black line is actually where the glass stops. It don't go all the way up. The two units in the corner are sponge filter housing and these would actually not be that great for turts unless you put another shelf and different lighting in. Ours house t5's and have a sliding access panel on the top instead of being open. In a household situation, the design of this tank will tend to evaporate quicker so use a soft water if you don't want calcium build up on the glass. All in all they are great tanks. Easy to maintain. Our hold 75gal but I'm not sure what that model holds. Looks deeper but more shallow than ours. I believe that it's Casco that makes these but I'm not 100%. I'll find out here in a bit from our owner (I'm on my work computor now) and let you know who makes them.

EDIT: The one you have a pic of looks all aquatic to me. I'm sure they make a system geared for turtles but this dosn't appear to be setup for that.

ps these are stackable. You can stack up to 3 if you set the bottom one low to the ground on a base.

So I was wrong. It's not Casco. It's Dutch Aquariums. Also I guess that IS a turtle tank. We were thinking of getting one of those for mudskippers appearently but didn't think there would be a big demand. It can be used just fine as a fish tank though. Operates just the same. Hope that helps!

it is a tarerium (not sure of spelling) of some kind my old boss had 5 of them that he kept turtles, gold fish ,and rosey reds in they are really handy when it comes to getting them out lol.

I hate to resurrect a really old thread, but these are made by DAS aquarium systems in Dallas, Tx. They are not available for purchase by the general public. I have a 180g aquarium that is designed similarly to the one you posted, without the canopy and much bigger. They are also well over a couple thousand dollars new.
