I had a post about this not too long ago and didnt get much info on it. I cant post a video as i dont have a youtube account. Has anyone had problems with little white/silvery worms wriggling around your tank before? Its a bare bottom tank and they seem to hang around the bottom unless caught in the current and thats where i got the pic from. Just did another water change about 10 min ago and vaccumed out at least 30 of them. Iv tried prazi pro and it didnt seem to do anything. My bass has been acting up almost like he has ich but he doesnt.

Its the long white/silvery thing by the base of the heater. Most of them are around 1cm or smaller. And dont say it looks like poop cuz its definatly not. They sqiggle around and are infesting my tank.

The bass has also developed some kind of small whiteish red growth on his pectoral fin right beside his gill, i dont know if this is a cause of the worm things or not. Prazi pro, salt and high temp havnt had any effect in weeks.

Just carry out regular water changes. I've seen these if there us a lot if left over food.

Does sound to me like planaria which is caused by overfeeding, however to my knowledge planaria is harmless. When i had them i vacuumed my tank three times a week for two weks and cut way back on feeding worked well

Definaty not planaria, iv looked all over google and found nothing similar to what these guys are. Also the pbass isnt off live food yet (possibly where the worms came from?) and iv been purposely UNDER FEEDING the feeders for that exact reason (if it was planaria). I even let the bass go for almost 2 weeks without feeders to see if that would cut down on the worms, and i ended up with even more.

They're most likely nematodes. Very hard to get rid of but don't pose much of a threat unless you have the red ones that protrude out of the anus. I actually have some in my tank and have been trying to get rid of them. I also tried praziquantel and it didn't do Jack! I have been doing water changes every other day and cleaning the sides of my tank and moved out all decor and slowly they are starting to decrease in numbers. Also cut down to feeding every other day will help alot. I heard that copper will kill them but I didn't want to risk it with my fish as copper is pretty toxic

My next step might be try to copper at 1/3 strength, iv tried alot of different things at this point and havnt seemed tocut down the population at all.

I have had these and couldn't figure out what they were either. I cut back on feeding and bumped up the water changes and they would come in numbers then disappear. Any time I see these, it is a true warning sign of to much waste feeding and lack of gravel vacuuming. And they seem to be harmless
