Wont say where i got these as there are no more left took both. Was told they are a P. abbreviata (p being polycentropsis or whatever their new name is spelt) but getting them home the anal and dorsal ray count doesnt tally and when not stressed they have a prominent spot on the caudal pendacule which is also too long.

Yeah the fin ray count tallies with nandus particularly the anal fin but the colouration eg tail spot and pelvics are different than that of nandus nandus, though this picture is close see the tail spot this is the only pic of nandus nandus i have found with the spot.

So im looking at 8inches not 8cm, will they be ok with my dats all 2.5 inches. The 'Nandus' arent much bigger

you should be fine mixing them.... i have seen it done before...

so they shouldnt grow up and snack on my dats.

these were supposedly fed only live food, i was told it would be impossible to change that;less than 24hrs they take krill from a stick voraciously. These things are AGGRESSIVE feeders both have fat little bellies cant seem to find a limit to how much they will eat. Cant wait till they look more like this size. They have the colour already now they have dark substrate. picture is from fishbase.org
