Look at the mouth, it is quite larger than pure pumpkinseed's mouth and also it has white splashes on the fins suggests a green hybrid.

Gills and seeds have much smaller mouths than that

After reading your post and looking at the picture alittle longer. I agree it is a hybrid.

The above looks like a standard bluegill to me.
