The first one always is scary, then you have a thousand ones you barely notice.
I am from cali, I was living in San deigo for the quake that dropped I5 3 feet back in 68 or so, I was living in cambell cali for the loma prieta quake that dropped the SF viaduct on folks during rush hour, first responders where theifs stealing trapped folks in there cars wallets. been in so many earth quakes. hot tar roofing been in a few, just put the mop down and step away from the cart. rather have quakes than tornadoes,

quakes always been just a interesting happening, lived with them for so long, never any real loss of life involved till the lome prieta, even then thought , oh another quake and a nice one till I saw the news. Don,nt get me wrong, I was less than 30 miles from the epicenter, just get use to them. no biggy anymore.

when i moved to Washington and was living with my now wife there was a little 5.0 quake and she was freeking, I said relax its just a little quake. we fine. far as i was was concerned business as usual, had more fun with her reaction.

yea this one was in the 5.1 5.3 area, she was nervous. The 1st one I remember was about 5.1 I remember it
soo much stronger.

every point is a 10th to the power. as in a 5.1 is 10 times stronger than a 5.0 , at 9.0 you are literally bouncing of the ceiling. type of quake makes a dif to, i have been in rollers and I have been in shakers, much prefer a roller.

I remember a roller in jr. high. I was sitting on the ground and could feel the waves go by clear as day.
