What are your plans for backup if equipment fails?

friend of mine was almost killed because there was a crack in his tank. The tank bursted and all the glass was sent flying. Some glass even went through the wall.

Yes, those sunsun/aquatop filters as a cheap backup is a great idea.

If the canister stops working, you can always take out all the media and put it into a tank, and wait for Amazon shipping. No need to have a backup canister.

I have a generator available for power cuts. I also run 2 canister filters on each tank. I set each canister in a large plastic box which wouldn't be much use if a seam burst, but should help if minor leaks occur.

If a tank itself gets banjaxed then I'm screwed. I'd be breaking all speed limits to get to my nearest LFS

If a tank ruptures you run to tractor supply and grab a stock tank...then to the liquor store. Electrical a battery backup or generator. Filter that's why you need redundancy. Sump leak you shut your ball valves and this is where a leak detector comes in handy.

There's really no saving yourself if a tank ruptures or canister seam splits. You're going to have a flood.
I have leak detectors at tanks and washer/ dryer. They even notify via wifi to phone.
Other than that I have an extra sump pump.
