I think it is time for an update. I added a 40 watt UV filter that is inline with one of the return pumps. The turtles are doing very well and I have added some rainbow fish to add some color to the tank. Here is a short video that I shot last week.

FRTs like hard water. I buffer my RO water for this reason.

All the more reason not to use RO water. They need calcium for their shell. RO is removing the calcium in the water too.

I don't think calcium will be a problem. I try and keep levels around 300 ppm. There is calcium in the salt (Reefcrystals) that I add to the wter and they eat lots of the aragonite sand while feeding.

Yep, they started fighting at night and I was scared that one of them was going to get hurt. The good news is that he will be going in a 5000 gallon display tank at a LFS.

Thats a shame u had to get rid of one but frt are very aggresive with one another.U have a great tank the size is awesome for your turtle.I wish i had that size tank for my frt i have the same set up as u but a 120 except i keep my heater in the sump under the bioballs my turtle is alot bigger and i was worried he would break the heater good luck with the little guy...

We went to the store that I sold him to yesterday to check up on him. They are still building the 5000 gallon tank so he is stuck in a 60 gallon temporarily.
