Love the tank and turtle. Too bad you had to sell one. But, it's for the best. As it's just a matter of time before they got really aggressive with each other. Sounds like it ended up in a good place.
Here's a video of our 11 year old FRT in a Marineland Deep Dimension 300 gallon tank, stand, and canopy in Red Oak.
Very nice, have you had him for 11 years? What lighting and substrate are you using? Your setup looks really nice. I will have to upload a new video of my setup.
Yes. We've had him for 11 years. Started out in a 110 gallon tank. Just moved him over to the 300 this past summer. For lighting, we are using (2) 36" Marineland Double Bright LED fixtures. For substrate, we are using CaribSea Ivory Coast sand. We'd love to add more plants, wood, etc. to the tank, but our FRT just pushes everything out of the way.
Awesome video, Gotfrogs! I like the choice of fish you went with for that tank, too. Love the look of the background. Do you remember what size background you used to fit between the corner overflows?
It was 60 inches long and then cut to size. I added additional foam to the bottom covered in epoxy to increase the height of the insert. I think there are some more details further back in this thread. I love the look but don't know if I would do it again. My other turtle started eating small bites of it.
I know I'm late on this but i was wondering how long they would get along I had three and tried them in everything from a 180 all the way up to an 1100 gallon 10' diameter pool and they always bit each other besides aros they are my favorite aquarium animal I had to get rid of them do to loss of job and money and didn't think I could afford to feed them right. I am in the process of trying to find another one I will not try anymore than one though they are way to aggressive to each other although they really didn't mess with anyother fish I had from aros catfish stingrays to cichlids....
