What attracts you to this hobby?

There must be a key factor in it for you to invest all this time and money as you do for it. A lot of people think we're borderline insane (which they may be correct about) regardless of reason. I personally am attracted because the idea of cultivating and watching your ecosystem grow is quite entertaining.
 
My personal attraction to fish keeping, is being able to watch a fish develop into a mature fish and then once they are at a nice size not too big and definatly not too small i like to trade my fish for another or a couple others or decorations, gravel, tank accessories etc, i enjoy been able to use this hobby as a way to trade/meet new people who have a similar intrest and it also satisfys my craving of trading/swapping which i enjoy because then stuff or fish etc are been passed onto someone else to use instead of just been boxed away and never used. Also i enjoy been able to create my fish tanks as i want them, i can arrange them however i like but some of my fish enjoy moving them back around so its a constant battle between man vs fish.

With how many different sectors of fish, decor, accessories there is a endless amount of new things to try, or new species to raise and see how they develop as they grow.

Fish and their aquactic environment has always been fascinating and mesmerizing to me.
 
For me it is about life. Watching my fish grow and then (hopefully) reproduce is just incredible. Knowing the species I keep come from half way around the planet gives me an opportunity to imagine life in and around the waters they come from. The naked woman are a bonus (depending on the women!)
 
I notice a lot of fishermen/women get into the hobby....Every since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by fish....Honestly not sure the reason why, its the voices in my head, telling me to set up more aquariums LOL
 
That is a bit of a tuff question, tried to answer 3 times now and nothing sumes it up better than, i like having large cichlids, they have personality and fun to watch when nothing on TV, and the sound of falling water great for nap time.
