I would say that viaaqua pumps are mediocre in quality and suckish on head...

Reeflo pumps are the bomb. Plus, the customer service is the best and the motors are built by a little, family run, company in arkansas. Some people buy the pumps just because they know the motor is top notch

I would say stick with the Mag pumps or the reeflo pumps. Both great and reliable. Other pumps mentioned have failed me before.

I would like to say that my magdrive 24 on our pond runs dry for hours when someone leaves the cover to the skimmer off and the algae (fueled by the blazing texas sun) grows and clogs the basket. It is a great pump and can be purchase from bigalsonline.com for 150.
