When I went to take a short video of my fry, there appeared a type of water bug in the tank. This bug I quickly netted out and threw into the other fish tank whereby the adults grabbed it fast. Does anyone know what it is? and also, is it the type of insect that eats fry?

Water Boatman bug perhaps.

Water boatmen have 2 large appendages that look like oars (I think I see in the video), they can eat fry, and may also bite you. Feed them to some adult fish.

Feed them to some adult fish.
That's exactly what i did. I suspected that swimming around in my fry tank was not at all what I would want. I will try to find out how this insect get's around. I don't want more showing up. Do they exit the water and fly away? or are they a nymph stage and must mutate to fly away? I will look into the two suggested identifications in this thread.

They are not a nymph, but sometimes show up with plants, or live food as eggs, or juvies.
They always appear in any outdoor ponds I have had, I've even seen them appear in bird bathes and rain barrels.
