What camera should I get?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions although they did not come until I had already left for best buy. I ended up getting a cannon s90 which is supposed to be the top of the line point and shoot very similar to the G11 that someone mentioned but slimmer and with a more customizable interface and settings. I will make a thread with some shots I take with it later in the Photo Lounge.
 
S90 is good, it's not more customizable though, its the same but not quite as powerful, has the same excellent sensor though. Only thing is the S90 has no viewfinder which is one of the things you asked about. I still will always prefer the G11 over it as it has ISO settings on the camera body etc, it's a little quicker too. You'll be holding the thing up like a tourist. Only small downside, aside from that it's a good buy IMO.

yeah, sorry, when I said viewfinder, I didn't mean the optical one. this has a nice size digital viewfinder that takes up the whole screen unlike the G11. I like that. Anyways, I think that this is pretty much what I was looking for and I think I have the settings where I want them and got a few good shots. I am just going to play with it some more and then up load them tonight.
