What can a oscar eat

I have a pet Oscar about 3-5 in. I’ve been feeding him worms and pellets and I want to start feeding him live fish. Do u have any suggestions

I’ve never fed mine live fish but I know that it’s best to quarantine them first to avoid disease! Also I don’t think gold fish are very nutritious for them! HTH

I guess it would depend on how the guppy died! If it died of a disease I would probably give it a miss!

I fed them krill when they were small but gets a bit messy now! I’ve fed them prawns (I’m from uk but I think prawns and shrimp are the same thing) I usually feed hikari gold and mostly insects (crickets locusts garden worms flies meal worms wax worms)

Wouldn't feed the Oscar anything that died or is sick could pass that to a healthy fish. Like Shane templar stated quarantine live feeder fish prior to feeding.

If you want to feed live, you’re best bet is to breed your own feeders. Otherwise you risk feeding him a fish with a disease or parasite.
