any reason why ? if you where to compare the living space of a shrimp in a 3 gal to say an silver aro r a giant gorami in there average tanks the shrimp has a hell of a lot more room so i do not see the problem ?

how can u compare an arowana to a shrimp? just because of the size comparison doesnt mean its a suitable sized tank.

im just saying comaping size of fish to size of tank , given clean water many fish could do very well in a tank of this size

well it depends on the fish. if a fish (like a puffer) needs swimming space and its 1 inch a 3 gallon is too small but if its a fish that likes smaller spaces and can do well in them and is 1 inch than a 3 gallon is fine. but what fish likes small spaces? a few shrimp would be fine but i dont think its suitable for fish.

yeah i agree it is matter of common sense if you have a highly active fish then you need more space for it but a 3 gal can be made into a nice little set up it just takes a little more skill to keep everything stable.

lets see...you can do dwarf seahorses- or some other small sea creature, threadfin rainbows, red ramshorn snails, shell dwelling cichlids, emperor or penguin tetras. all are really good looking and interesting fishies.

i would say you should search the net for nano tank forums and info you will find a lot of info as with space and cost of substrates ect, nano tanks have become very popular and there is a lot of small filters on the market now giving you many choices and options for a small planted tank.

you might be better off selling it nano tanks can be a hassle to get hold of in my experience

i would go with 3 neon tetras and like 3 peppermint shrimp if you order them special thru your LFS. that would look cool with a bit of java moss for the shrimp with maybe some small pieces of driftwood you can buy in a pack for like 10 bucks for hermit crabs. they sink already and they look really good with green plants. that would look nice.
