what can go with JackDempseys, Parrots, and green terrors?

i have a really kickass filter (fluval 405)

so with water changes 2 a month, im hoping it will be fine. I guess for now ill just keep the tank as is, and see how it plays out...

It's not all about the filter (although, for the bioload your fish will present when full grown, you do NOT have enough filtration). There is aggression to deal with and NITRATE buildup. Assuming the aggression doesn't break all hell loose, you'd have to do weekly waterchanges 50% or more to keep the nitrates down.

no, no, no, no. no oscar. a 55 gallon isn't big enough for one oscar, let alone one with that many tankmates. the green terror will eventually need that tank alone once it matures, as it will likely kill all three of the blood parrots.

instead of thinking of adding fish, you should get rid of some first. you 55 is big enough for the 3 blood parrots on their own, not with the jacks and the terror. or you can keep the jacks, or just the terror. rope fish get 4 feet long, and a big oscar might won't be able to turn around in that small of a tank.

you should have done some research before you got the fish.

I agree with everything here except the part about the rope fish. I would LOVE to see a 4' ropefish and would give my next paycheck for it.

and please take our advice. when people ask for advice, and don't take the awesome advice that is given on this forum, they usually end up gettin little to no advice later on.

ditch everything but the terrors, and you should be fine. wait, ditch everything but the terrors, and never (just to be safe) listen to employees of wal-mart, petco, petsmart, petcetera, and other shops like that. 90% of the time, they have no idea what they're talking about

Don't give someone advice to never listen to a group of people you know absolutely nothing about. You just told him a rope gets 4'......show me one over 1.5-2......you won't. As for the op (original post), you WILL have to trim down your stock. Your filter is nowhere near large enough to accomidate those fish, even if the tank was large enough. Personally, the jd and gt would have to go (maybe add a couple smaller fish). Your blood parrots will grow large enough themselves to fill that tank.

because id really like to keep them together as long as i can. I just did a 15 gallon water change tonight

I'm chilled (cold beer's takin care of that). He can take it as he will. How does it feel to be on the opposite end of the stick? I just don't feel it's right to make a statement like that (especially to a newbie looking for advice)

You should be good for a little while. Its all going to be based on growth and aggression. All being small, you should be ok for a little while.

and yeah, the tank should be okay for a few months. green terrors are really slow growers
