4' tank. 120 Gal

Apparently a Sal is out of the question. Had one similar in size to them and they killed it in less then 24 hours.

So open to suggestions. Disreguard my sig stocking. That is now and I'm looking for the future. I need something I can grow out and keep with these two in my 120. I know both get fairly large but would seem quite under stocked with only two cichlids and some SD's. Thoughts?

usually jags dont beat the crap out of there tankmates unless provoked so i would say get a jag but if provoked it will crush the gt and tex.

I should mention that the GT and Tex are both males. Wouldn't a jag get too big for a 4' tank?

Currently the GT is pushing 6" and the Tex 4".

48 inches isn't much room for 2 aggressive territorial Cichlids. They don't understaand about bio-load. They just know there's another Cichlid a few feet away at all times. If it were me I'd go for some fast dither/target fish instead of another Cichlid tankmate.
It won't look understocked when they're full grown and furious at each other :-)

Good point. Maybe some more dithers to keep their mind off each other. They flare up at each other now but no fights. Just a little chasing.

I have a pictus I could put in there are some point but wanted to make sure he was nice and big first. I like the loach idea. Never had them. They get pretty big though right?

Yea, but it takes them 6 or 7 yrs to get as many inches. Super slow growers.
Check into some of the synodontis catfish! There's some gorgeous synos out there, great cleaner-uppers and most grow fast.

Dithers, nothing else. Not enough tank length. Keep a fair amount of decoration in mind. The tex is going to grow a whole lot faster than the gt, so he will most likely be the bully. Just give some divisions to the tank so they can get out of each other's sight every once in a while.
