What can I do to improve water clarity?

uv sterilizer or carbon to help with th e chemical filtration

I would think the Koralias help to move the particles to be filtered?! Do you think they are not helping the situation?
I honestly don't know, but it is something I would try. I think your tank is beautiful, and I'm not a fan of African cichlids at all. The cloudiness does not look like anything a UV would help with to me. Turning the Koralias off,and stuffing your AC's full of floss is the first thing I would do. If that does not help after a day or 2,turn the powerheads back on and get a Magnum. The cloudiness looks like it is from the sand. And I believe you mentioned adding some sand to the tank recently. The Koralias will stir things up.Some of the debris will make it to the filter intakes, some won't. JMO.

Uv won't do much for your setup. Finer micron filtration such as a diatom or magnum 350 will.
Cheapest vs effectivness method would be to use Seachem purigen.

I doubt a UV will help at all since you don't appear to have a bacterial bloom. Rather in one of the canister filters stick a bunch of polywool filter floss. Don't stick it in the HOB filters since the water will just bypass it. Fill a canister with mostly that and change it monthly. It will help clear the water up greatly.

Your other option is to get a diatom filter or you can get an AquaClear power-head and the micron filter attachment for it. Run it on a timer for maybe 3-4 hours a day and it should help clear the water.

I have an overstocked 150 setup as well. A UV will definitely improve the water clarity. The problem I have with XP3 filter is that the intake strainer prevents a lot of stuffs from being collected. I switch it with an Eheim intake take and noticed a big difference in water clarity. UV will make your water clearer and wouldn't hurt to upgrade your XP intake and exit to Eheim intake kit.

Diatom filter FTW.

UV's work great and will also give crystal water but I would wait at least 3 months with a new tank even when using seeded filters before setting one up. They will kill free floating BB w/ out hesistation.

Thing about a UV is it will not remove particulates and the diatom filter will.

Wow, I would've never thought of that, great suggestion! I would look into some 100-200 micron filter pads. I have a filter sock that I am putting into my sump to take care of this too. I saw it on a thread on here :).

UV sterilizer

yes i would say more carbon for sure
you should check kijiji or ebay or something and get a fluval x5 or something comperable
my tank is 165 check on my page....
i have 2 fx5 hooked up and my water is crystal clear with the air pump off for pics...but i keep alot of air in my tank im paranoid
