What can i do to make my pond look better?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
cardinals would look pretty BA. I Was thinking of pacus maybe? Don't flame me I kno there tropical but in Florida canals aren't there a whole bunch? And if am not mistaken it does get pretty cold down there sometimes and the pacu seem to thrive. About the wels am just not sure if I want to take on a 4th pond. I will seriously consider it tho. Wels seem like a huge responsibility.

Try the next best thing, Wallago.

The tails of fancy goldfish would be to much of a temtation for a turtle, although they would look really nice once they got big if winter temps allow.

Trout won't last the summer. Even in Northern IL., they are only stocked in fall and the ones that make it til the following summer need deep, cool, well oxygenated water. Basically Lake Michigan, not backyard ponds.

Channel cat would be a better choice than a Wels, but not many people rock a wels.

Get some floating plants in the waterfall and a lily in the pond for some cover and nutrient export.

Where are the pics of the other ponds?
