im out of test supply's that so n my to buy list and sorry for the stupidity should of gave that already the tank is 9 feet long buy 4 wide and 2 high. and i have a sump under there with allot of boi and charcoal and some bio cylinders like you get for AC HOB filters

In Chicago there isn't much you shouldn't be able to get your hands on.. at least not thats legal or rare in general.

Do you want a single fish?
species tank?
community?

by narrowing things down your gonna end up picking the perfect fish that fits the bill.. because tehre are actually TONS of fish that fit it, and the tank size isn't likely to be a big issue unless you overstock. or pick a handful of the fish that would outgrow the 4' range give or take.

umm not sure i kinda want the tank to look full you know not just one fish but i dont want it over stocked of course. what are some ideas for a species tank? and what are some for a community tank?

A great sized tank for an Arowana, P bass, Ray. Not really what I would call a predatory tank but some bruisers that can eat.

In the us asian aros are illegal so u can't get those but u can get the other types but for a tank that's gonna house other fishes with the arowana i would say silver seems the most chill def not a jardini though it will become a menace to society err aquasociety

Silver arrowana is your best bet, though a black may work as well. Jars are notoriousely aggressive as a general rule so I'de avoid them. peacocks get pretty good size so i'de say maybe 3?.. Rays are challeneging but not impossible, I'de def do some research on each of these species in the sub-forums to get some more info. the sub forums can give you and idea on the sub-species of these fish as well and help you figure out what type/and how much you want to spend. spending an hour or 2 readin the stickies and threads will likely answer alot of questions on these fish. and give you some more precise questions to ask in reguards to them.

Instead of a ray you could also do a large cat. I would love to have a giraffe cat. They king of remind me of oversized cory cats. These guys are much safer of a choice with other fish compared to RTC's.
