I have a young tiger ray (around 8 inches in diameter) which eats market shrimp. I've read that they also feed on mussels/ clams and fish fillet.

Do I have to boil the mussels and clams before feeding? What else can I feed my ray to add variety?

Thank you.

You can feed most worms as well and i dont think you have to boil the clams and fish.. just need to remove the shell and bones and give them a good rinse before feeding.

The mussels have to be boiled so that they will open up and you can get the meat easily. Just watch out for red tide.

I alternate the shrimp, mussels and silversides(dilis). One type per week.

Can you post pictures of your Tiger?

my rays are on a diet mixture of frozen prawns (tawed), mussels, squid and gold fish pellets....

Tried feeding silversides but my ray refused to take them. Will try mussels.

It could be too big for the ray or it does not know that it is food yet. What you can do is to fillet the silverside and feed only the meat first.
