What can i keep with a convict cichlid in a 29 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you get a breeding pair the convicts will likely kill everything in a 29g. I currently have a mated pair in a 29g and they do not like any other fish in the tank.

also do rubberlip plecs need driftwood or are they fine if a drop a couple sinking wafers/algae wafers every day or two

oops, sry forgot to add, they are still juvi's, bout they've been in the 29G for about 6-7 weeks and no problems.

wow its true, canadians really are stupid. plecos can grow upwards of 2ft. ii would not reccomend a pleco. you could try gravel? or maybee a fake plant?

You serious buddy? You mad bro? I was just about to edit in a "dwarf pleco", but didnt think it was neccesary in THIS forum which I took as a population of experienced hobbyists. But apparently not, use some infrencing skills before you seemingly have the urge to insult another countrys people.

To the OP: I would try some Bristle Nose PLECO (stays under 6 inchs) that are great for algae clean up. I am not sure on the agressiveness of a single convict since I've only ever kept a pair. A pair would kill most fish listed as "semi agressive" easily (or at least seriously maim...), and a single one would take out most community fish.

Or maybe ita they auatrailians...true there are pleco's that can grow to be over two feet, while others barely grow to be two inches. Do your research bud before you make racial comments.
