I answered the message you sent me, as well... This is what I said, just in case.
Well, if they've never bred before, it's probably going to take them a couple of times to get it right. They'll lay eggs every month or so after they really get going, so I'd let them handle the first couple on their own. That way, you can get an idea of what they're going to do (care for vs. eat their children!). Yep, if the tubes are out, it should happen pretty soon!

If the fish are spawning or thinking about it the odds are it is not a true altum. More likely it is what is called often times a "peruvian altum" apparently the same species as the common angels we deal with. If it actually is a true altum odds are the eggs will not even hatch. How do you know the sexes??
