What can I use to circulate the water

The way I have the slate in my tank (standing up like ridges) I think that is contributing to dead spots

I didnt want to overkill. I want the tank to be as comfy as possible with out interupting the fishes lives through bad circulation or to much current. do you personally feel the the 800's would be better than the 12's or for the setup the 12's better then the 8's

if that was my tank, i would personaly run the 800's.
