Maybe you got a lemon or something. I've never had any of those problems with my 2 Fluvals. When closed properly, mine never leak and the latches seem very sturdy. even with new o-rings, they don't seal shut properly, and sometimes leak. the latches are cheap and can break off. the impeller cover broke within the first 3 months of use.
