RX8 is seriously underpowered in the torque department

In it's defense it's powered by two triangles.. lol

I know of a few SR20 swapped 240s if you decide to go that route as well.

Go RB26 or go home.. :headbang2;)

To say the RX8 has more aftermarket potential than the STI is foolish. A basic bolt-on STI will walk the fastest RX8s. Rotary engines are a nightmare to work on, so that's not even a comparison.

Rotary's aren't that bad. They get a bad rap from people who don't know what they're doing. I mean you only have two triangles, an eccentric shaft, housings, couple seals. If you said they're more touchy to tune though I would agree with that. It will detonate faster if you lean it out and end far worse compared to a normal piston engine.

As for rx8 vs. STI. It's up to you. STI is more practical, rx8 is more original IMO. Every teen wanker seems to have a wrx/evo now. rx8 I wouldn't let anyone but rotary specialist mechanic work on mechanical wise if you ever need something serious or even just something fabricated. Obviously there's a ton of subie specialist tuners out there. 350z/g35 would be my pic for a newer tuner car though. Awesome looking cars with potential that are comind down in price. Or if you're all about drifting you can build a serious s14 for that kinda cash.

/Tell tigger I say Hi

make monster ae86 for that cash too.... or possibly 260z with SR20 or mayb RB plant....

hell if i had my way it be a nice older RX7 or a supra(if i could find a nice one in budget i would)... but my brain is odd and i want something newer...

RX8 is sexy car... lots of potential and with budget of buying a nice used one for cheap leaves me about 15gs to put in it right off the bat... cheaper the car more in it... STI i have option of friends when he deals with some issues... problem is waiting... 350z comes down to basically gonna be stock for awhile.. stock is still fun... its not all drifting i like drag racing and just cruising on fun crazy roads at slightly above the speed limit... all around i want a nice fast car that i can have fun with... problem with 200sx or 240 is i can never find one in good shape or with atleast the jdm engines in them that are not 90% blown.. im really leaning twards the rx8 or the sti... if i can find a 350z for good deal ill go that route... if a supra landed in my lap well lets just say after i guy i know is done with it watch the news cause ill prob be dead after the ride of my life :WHOA:...

guess ill have to keep riding my options and see what i can find...

s15? over here a s15's sell for less than rx8's no hair dresser drives a s15 and we have a lot of hair dressers over here.... not too mention what is blown that 15g anit guna fix? there are nice s14's out there still... got mine as a fresh import last yr, sub 50,000 genuine miles full jdm spec. perfect condition, £3000 flat.... now i just need a 260z shell....

I'd buy a hippy van and pursue the greatest cereal on earth at the east coast of Australia, while powered by oil from deep fryers from mcdonalds. in the evenings I would attend peace rallies, to free the mighty one we call bob. after 14 months of this life style, I would cut my hair, and get a real job.

I mean, this car comes with a life style and a max speed of 98km a hour.... do any of those other cars you listed do that?

S15 was never sold in the U.S. so for him or anyone in the U.S. to get one you'd have to import one and it'd be a pain to register. Not horrible but costly.

I would agree though. Even over here you can find nice s14's left.. You're gonna replace the motor anyways(U.S. 240's didn't get the SR motors) so all you're really looking for is clean interior and a body that isn't horribly bad.

evo 10
S2000
They both good cars with potential
I wouldn't get an rx-8, to underpowered
If u watch top gear there was a show whwerr the put re Evo Vs the new sti u should watch it

Evo is out of the question...i know a few people with them and they for the most part regret it... plus id rather a STI over a EVO....

RX8 as i said before is under powered and thats nothing that cant easily be taken care of aftermarket...

rather not buy a car and have to dump 15gs into a blown motor sort of defeats my idea...
