Love the tank! Is that a giant gourami or just a REALLY big blue?

I currently have a spotted raphael that I hate with a passion, the only reason he's there is that I literally cannot evict him as he just extends his fins inside the decorations. Other than that he likes to fight my knifefish at night and increase my bioload.

I don't have any problems with either of my striped and spotted raphael, they don't bother any of my other catfishes, or with my IT, mono augmentus and aro, vice versa. The only time I consider them "aggressive" is during feeding times where they just push their way through to the food.

Lol, I used to have a striped for 8 years, was already huge when I got him so who knows how old he is (traded him in since); he'd fight with the same BGK. Not biting or anything but he'd push aggressively inside the same hiding spot, using his spines etc too and making the grumbling noise. Needless to say there were other hiding spots but ironically they both chose the same one. I daresay they probably just have slightly different personalities, like cichlids.

All I have left is a big old spotted raph and a Short-body sun-cat. I've already unloaded the rest. :( Trying to gear up to let the SB sun cat go, I don't think I can do it yet. Still mourning.

What happened to your other cats?

I need to downsize for now, cutting back to an unheated 75 with my axolotl and a sponge filter is the goal. Need to save $ and stop the humidity problems. Eventually, after I remodel the garage into a livingroom, I'll set up a 200-ish gallon tank with one or two monsters. Most likely a uranoscopus and and adonis, if they'll get along. Or a panaque to save money on food. I have lots of ideas! Or a coldwater tank, I just can't decide. But I'm keeping the old spotted, even if I have to set up a 20g in a dark corner somewhere...
